Lyrics for Sheep

http://www.wireduck.com/pages/sheep-lyric.html

Sheep
words and music by Neal Fox
Verse 1
I didn’t want to be the
One who had to say this
But it’s been heavy on my mind
And though you like to think you’re
One and you’re the only, look around
‘Cause you’re not one of a kind
V2
I’m not the only one who
Knows or who can see this
But you’ve been getting on my nerves
I watch your ego say that
You’re always right, and it fights
For the space it deservesChorus:
(Sheep)
You’ve got the masses on your side
No need to run, no need to hide
(You’re all just sheep)
As long as everyone agrees
You’ll be as stupid as you please
(You’re all just sheep)
And any moron with a laptop
Can supply you with lies
(Sheep)
You’re being led off to the slaughter
And they’ll serve you with fries

Verse 3
And here’s another who could
Care less to get the facts straight
He’s just another status quo
Behind a microphone and
Boy, don’t he just look great
As he demonstrates
What he doesn’t know

(Chorus)

Verse 4
And though you claim to have the
Facts to back up your story
You never seem to hang around
You’re so convinced that your
Opinion has some value, and only
Your view is so holy and profound

Bridge
You wouldn’t think to check a fact
You’d never try to lead the way
As long as all your fears are intact
Freedom is the only price we pay for…
Inst out
(Sheep)
(Sheep)
(You’re all just Sheep)
(fade)

Jesus said a lot about sheep too, how the ‘blind follow the blind’. Isaiah commented “All of us like sheep have gone astray”, meaning we go astray in groups (herds, flocks). It’s a contagious thing. People go crazy in groups. Peer pressure kicks in, and a few clever demagogues know how to tweak the group think, like dogs.

How to break out of group-think? Find the truth. Search for it in every area of life, but especially find the big truth, the truth behind all truths…..look for it, and you’ll find a person. He has always existed, and he lived on earth for a while.

You’ll see a likeness of him in Aslan, of Narnia. Enjoy the movie.

Die Religion Die – Brian Head Welch

13 06 2010

Following Jesus Christ ‘does not equal’ RELIGION

Religion = doing a duty to get God off your back. It’s the, ‘I’ve done my bit (been to church/bible study/prayer group/missionary group……….) so leave me alone so I can get on with MY LIFE.’

Remember, it was the religious people who got Jesus crucified.

BHW says it well.

My Church is not inside/You’re building walls/On Sundays you all hide

Genuine believers are ‘the church’. Buildings are irrelevant.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ddoAX2TUCo

I’m sick of all your rules

They’re so man made

You treat them all like fools

You put my name to shame

I’m everything you’re not

I give them love

My ways you have forgot

You put yourselves above

I’ll testify

It’s time to see Religion die

The truth can’t lie

It’s time to see Religion die

Who cares?

Who’s right?

It’s time to see Religion die

I’ll crush the fight

It’s time to see Religion die

My Church is not inside

You’re building walls

On Sundays you all hide

While the world just falls

Now go into the world

And destroy ****

You have authority

Use it for the kill

Children come

Away with me

I want you all

To be mine

I am

Taking back what’s mine, and

You’ve killed too much time with

Pointing all your fingers at your kids that’s why they’re lost

Try to look deep in their eyes

You will see suicide

Blame it on yourself cuz no one else will pay your price

Your price

Die just

Die Religion

Do not be afraid

Religion is man made

Everything is OK

The rules have just been changed

“Chains you can believe in.”

Christians operate in a sort of tension between following the Bible’s instructions to show honour to those in authority (Roman’s 13, which was Hitler’s favourite chapter apparently) when those in authority can be vile, dishonourable individuals. This is further complicated when one lives in a ‘democracy’, where rulers in theory rule by consent of the people but in practice follow another agenda.

But, whatever the political situation we might find ourselves in, we are never expected to trust the government. Showing honour and trusting are two different things and we shouldn’t confuse the two. Additionally, as Christians we should also seek truth in all areas of life, not just the ‘spiritual’ areas. And sometimes, politics and truth are mutually exclusive.

Finally, we have Jesus as our model. He crossed swords, metaphorically, with both religious and state power. Remember, it was a representative of state power, Pilate, who said, “What is truth?” Ultimately, all Truth resides in Jesus Christ. He is the Truth. Truth brings light. Without truth in  day to day life, we end up being manipulated, that is, in the chains of untruths and doublespeak used by the manipulators.

Daniel Ellsberg, the former US military analyst who released the pentagon papers in 1971, appeared on MSNBC today with Dylan Ratigan.  He said he fears for the safety of Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks, who is reportedly on the verge of leaking secret State Department cables.  The Daily Beast reports that Assange is currently being sought by the Pentagon, and Ellsberg advises him not to reveal his whereabouts.

“We have after all for the first time, that I ever perhaps in any democratic country, we have a president who has announced that he feels he has the right to use special operations operatives against anyone abroad, that he thinks is associated with terrorism,” says Ellsberg. “Now as I look at Assange’s case, they’re worried that he will reveal current threats. I would have to say puts his well-being, his physical life, in some danger now. And I say that with anguish. I think it’s astonishing that an American president should have put out that policy and he’s not getting these resistance from it, from Congress, the press, the courts or anything. It’s an amazing development that I think Assange would do well to keep his whereabouts unknown.”

The chain we all carry inside ourselves is the chain of self-deception about the truth concerning ourselves. We need the truth deep in our soul to deal with our own nature which is bent. Thats the toughest chain of all.

[Jesus speaking to the religious Jews who thought being ‘good’ externally – being related to Abraham and doing all the rituals without looking at what went on in their minds/hearts – was good enough.]

So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed in him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?”

Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you. I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.” Jesus John 8:31-38 ESV

Welcome to the Insane Asylum or: How We Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Big Lie – Chapter 3

8 06 2010

A case study.

Read this, then apply it to the lies you accept regarding what you know about your traditional/denominational church compared to what you read in the Bible.
Examples:

  1. Today the word ‘church’ refers to a building and the organisation associated with it. In the Bible it referred to people who knew each other and met together in homes.
  2. Today a church ‘leader’ is someone who has gone to college/university and been trained and studied and become qualified, apparently, to lead and teach. All a bit academic. The New Testament leader is someone who has proven himself by raising a sane family and loving his wife and proving himself in the workplace among unbelievers, “he must be well thought of by outsiders”.

Cognitive dissonance anyone?

The principles outlined below can also be applied to the TDC.

The BIG LIE

A perfect example of this dynamic in play is the manner in which many of us publically and privately resist any credible examination of what really happened on 9/11. This subject is a publicly (and for many a privately) closed door and cannot be opened at all, not even a smidgen. If the door is somehow forced open a crack, the governmental, public and private keepers of the myth rush in to apply damage control. And if we’re confronted with obvious contradictions of fact or common sense, while we might publicly say we support looking a little closer, secretly many of us are desperate for this door to be quickly slammed shut once again, for the implications are too disturbing to contemplate.

From my conversations over the last 3 years with at least 20 people who have slowly come to realize there are serious problems with the official 9/11 “conspiracy theory”, nearly everyone has admitted to me they’d always had problems with the official story. And while many suspected there was much more to it than they were being told, they didn’t want to think about the ramifications if their suspicions were true. The clincher for many to remain silent and in denial was that no one of public “authority”, be it on TV or newspapers or magazines, seemed to be questioning the official story. In essence, the leaders of the herd, the hive hierarchy, were (and are) not accepting any questioning of the 9/11 public myth under any circumstances. This had the effect of stifling questions from those who would normally be somewhat critical of the government.

Now combine this personal uncertainty and doubt with government and private myth keepers publicly and viciously attacking anyone who questioned the official story and we have what could reasonably be called a hot potato. Meaning no one who’s publicly certified as a “sane” person (meaning accepted by the hive) with anything to lose would possibly touch it. The myth keepers rarely attack public doubters on actual scientific or logical grounds, other than to hold up the disgraced NIST reports as proof. This is because the official conspiracy theory cannot withstand an unbiased and logically consistent examination without massive inconsistencies becoming readily apparent.

Instead, the preferred method used to “discredit” anyone asking questions when they can’t defend “facts” are extremely effective ad hominem attacks, which directly threaten a person’s status within the hive. For most people, particularly those in the public eye or of substantial wealth and privilege, but even middle class Joe and Jane who work in private or public companies and mingle daily with other hive members, it’s public suicide to invite these attacks by asking questions. Thus self censorship is alive and well in America, helped along by clear instructions from the hive authorities that it’s best not to ask questions.

The people with silent questions about the official conspiracy theory see the public beatings received by other doubters and quickly determine the softer easier way is just to shut up and whistle past the grave yard. These techniques have been used for thousands of years but have been refined over the past 100 years in an effort to maintain the illusion of a representative republic and “freedom”. In particular, this applies to the so-called freedom of the press, which is a farce any way you slice it. Any serious study of the main stream media will inform you of their consistent support of the hive hierarchy.

The powers that be who wish to squelch troublesome inquires can’t exactly move directly to outright jailing or even execution (at least not yet) so the myth of a benevolent government and freedom for all is maintained using other methods. These techniques include public browbeating and harassment as well as the psyops crowd favorite of ridicule, innuendo and rumor mongering spread close to home and work. And for the more persistent questioners, the tried and true outright verbal and physical threats, IRS “investigations” and so on are in the tool box ready to be used. Of course, “accidents” for those “terrorists” who are gaining real credibility can always be deployed. One only need spend some time reading up on this subject to become familiar with how this is done.

The herd quickly learns that to question the official myth(s) of the hive means immediate and extremely public excommunication or worse.  Since many people are already filled with conflicting lies that create continuous internal turmoil, most don’t have the internal stability and conviction to withstand this type of character assault. It’s extremely difficult to swim upstream when you’re all alone and you can’t trust yourself to overcome the current.

Moral courage to act against the herd and your government isn’t “found” within most people; it’s developed over time and begins with deep personal convictions which often include basic honest assessments of themselves and their world. To believe and then parrot what the herd believes or what the powers that be want you to believe is not defined in my book as moral courage, unless the belief itself is capable of standing on its own as independently provable and self evident. This is rarely the case.

If the only thing backing the moral courage is the ability to bash someone’s head in, meaning raw power, this is actually a demonstration of cowardliness masquerading as patriotism or courage. I’m not talking about rushing the machine gun nest type of courage; I’m talking about deep moral convictions based upon personal awareness and deep understanding of oneself and others. There is a shameful explosion of moral cowardliness these days from the very top all the way down to mom and pop.

Welcome To The Insane Asylum – Our Collective Psychosis – Chapter One | zero hedge

Mass Culture, TV, Manipulation, Self-Deception….welcome to today

The article takes aim at our complicity in the lies manufactured by The Powers That Be. The hive is structured, it has a hierarchy. The same analysis can be applied to the traditional/denominational church (TDC).

It has a hierarchy, and your spirituality is determined by your place in that hierarchy. It is choreographed, with the aim of manipulating perceptions. The TDC sets itself up as the source of knowledge and true, the gatekeeper if you like, rather than doing what it should do. What should the ‘church’ be doing? It should be equiping people to live as followers of Christ day by day, it should be equiping them to do their work as unto God, it should be equiping them to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ (check out the epistles).

What does the TDC do. It equips people to become part of the game of ‘church’, a gross distortion of what the word ‘church’ means.

Leaving aside the understanding that “reality” TV is highly choreographed and elaborately staged; the illusion is that it’s real. This allows the viewer to be swept up along with the contestants as they morph from cocoon to butterfly, taking fictional character empathy and self identification by the viewer to much higher levels than previously thought possible. Goebbels, who until now had been the anointed master of the “Big Lie”, must be screaming in a jealous rage as he rots in his grave. And you thought this was just a talent show or a competition of “survival” on a tropical island. This method of cultural conditioning is highly effective even when the viewer is aware of the dynamic, just as long as that person is somewhat dissatisfied with their life and is searching for meaning and understanding outside of themselves rather than within. And the higher the IQ and financial earning power of an individual, the higher the likelihood they’ll be searching, particularly among those who are growing weary of our consumer culture.

WikiLeaks and Julian Paul Assange : The New Yorker

These descriptions also apply to much of the traditional/organised church. Our freedom in Christ is often squashed or suppressed by those in power with other agendas. They do not display the fruits of the Spirit.

He had come to understand the defining human struggle not as left versus right, or faith versus reason, but as individual versus institution. As a student of Kafka, Koestler, and Solzhenitsyn, he believed that truth, creativity, love, and compassion are corrupted by institutional hierarchies, and by “patronage networks”—one of his favorite expressions—that contort the human spirit. He sketched out a manifesto of sorts, titled “Conspiracy as Governance,” which sought to apply graph theory to politics. Assange wrote that illegitimate governance was by definition conspiratorial—the product of functionaries in “collaborative secrecy, working to the detriment of a population.” He argued that, when a regime’s lines of internal communication are disrupted, the information flow among conspirators must dwindle, and that, as the flow approaches zero, the conspiracy dissolves. Leaks were an instrument of information warfare.

Don’t Trust Big Pharma either (see previous post)

In a strong indictment of the World Health Organization, a report prepared for the Council of Europe has said WHO wasted large sums of public money by raising unjustified fears of ‘‘a pandemic that never really was’’ and expressed concern over the influence of the pharmaceutical industry on the decisions taken by it regarding the H1N1 virus outbreak.

Who to Trust?

7 06 2010

Why trust governments?

Christians, of all people, should be the ones most sceptical of politicians. After all, we believe in The Fall, we believe in Original Sin, i.e., that every human being is distorted within. That every human heart, deep down, has something dark and unpleasant lurking, commonly known as ‘sin’. And not sin as, “I stole some money”, but as: there is something drastically wrong in my nature.

Most people are limited in their ability to do evil. They do not have the opportunity to start  a war. Their evil may be limited to their family, or neighbours, and will be more limited by the means to express evil. You need a lot of money and power if you want to be evil on a grand scale.

Enter, the politician. Most of these individuals, through $$$ and charm and lies and focus groups and being groomed by TPTB get lots of power and money, and therefore, the possibility of being evil on a grand scale. Why shouldn’t they? After all, they are the law makers now.

Hence, the mystery:

The central mystery of modern political life is: Why are people obliged to presume that politicians and government are more trustworthy than they seem? The question is not, Why do people distrust government? The question is, Why do people follow and applaud politicians who they recognize are lying to them? The mystery is not that politicians lie, but that citizens believe. It is not a question of giving rulers one benefit of the doubt — but of giving such benefits day after day, year after year, ruler after ruler.

Watchout – don’t get religious

6 06 2010

The Temptation to be Religious

One of the dominant themes in the gospels is the continuing conflict Jesus had with the religious establishment, typified by the Pharisees. They were the ones who controlled the scene religiously. They made sure they kept the Law of Moses, sort of. Unfortunately, their relationship with God was religious, self-righteous, hypocritical. Jesus pokes through their smugness, they can’t control him, and eventually they resort to the ultimate solution.

15:1 Then Pharisees and scribes came to Jesus from Jerusalem and said, 2 “Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat.” 3 He answered them, “And why do you break the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, ‘Honor your father and your mother,’ and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’ 5 But you say, ‘If anyone tells his father or his mother, “What you would have gained from me is given to God,” [1] 6 he need not honor his father.’ So for the sake of your tradition you have made void the word [2] of God. 7 You hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy of you, when he said:

8 “‘This people honors me with their lips,

but their heart is far from me;

9 in vain do they worship me,

teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’”

via Passage: Matthew 15 (ESV Bible Online).

So what’s going on here? The Pharisees are modifying the Old Testament Law with a false religiosity. They are saying, instead of leaving your earthly possessions to your parents when you die it is FAR better to leave it to God, ie, the Pharisees. They overlay God’s commands with their own commands, and make it appear as very devout (putting God before parents).

So the problem is, they inserted their own rules among God’s commands in obedience to their own agenda. This always involves external actions, displays of being religious. Apply this to ourselves today: we insert our own ideas among the teachings of Jesus and the apostles to make ourselves appear religious and devout and get more concerned with conforming our behaviour to things like ‘church life’ than concerning ourselves with the state of our heart and mind.

The temptation to do this is buried deep in our human nature. It’s also part of the typical church structures that exist today. Lots of unwritten rules exist which act to distort the truth (Jesus’ teaching understood and followed in a straight forward way), so that external actions become more important than loving God and neighbour from the heart. Conformity to church group think take precedence over being conformed to Christ, which begins with the inside of the cup: heart and mind. Matt 23:25

How to escape this trap?

  • Be very careful with ‘church’ (meaning the organised, traditional church structure). Don’t get sucked in to conforming mindlessly. Get out if you have to. Find a few Christians you can trust. You’ll know them by their fruit. There is no LAW saying you must go to church once a week on Sunday. That is a man-made rule/tradition. We are encouraged to meet together, but when/where is left open. Heb 10:25
  • Read the Bible yourself. Daily. Make time. It’s your food, light, strength, shield. It’s God primary way of communicating to you.
  • AND, read it in context. Read whole books, not verses here and there. CONTEXT  should control the meaning, not what you feel the meaning is. Use your head. Read it sensibly, then…
  • pray for God’s grace to understand and follow what you read.

May you grow in the knowledge and grace of Jesus Christ, who loves you.
